How much does it cost to make an AI series?

Costs come from three places — writing, images and rendering seconds. In AISP writing the series bible is free; portraits, cover art and episodes are charged in credits, and each episode is quoted before you confirm.

Where the money goes

Every AI series pays for the same three things: a language model to write it, an image model for characters, covers and scene frames, and a video or animation step priced by the second. Video is by far the biggest cost, which is why the look you choose matters more than anything else.

AISP’s rates (checked October 2026)

  • Series bible (title, cast, world, season outline): free.
  • Episode scripts: free with the Standard writer; 10 credits with Sharp and 15 with Best, per script.
  • Images (portraits, covers, scene frames): 1 credit with Fast, 5 with Detailed, 6 with Stylised and 8 with Photoreal, per image.
  • Rendering, per second of episode: Storyboard 1, Motion 2, video Draft 11, Cinema 31, Cinema Pro 53.
  • Continuous video (each scene continuing the previous footage) is charged at a higher per-second rate, shown on the option.

These are the rates the app showed on the date above; the app always shows the current rate next to each option.

How charging works

Credits are one-time purchases, not a subscription, bought in the app on the web or on Google Play. New accounts get 100 free credits, enough to render a first Storyboard episode. Each episode is scripted before it renders, so the confirm screen shows a real number rather than an estimate. Scenes are saved as they finish; a scene that fails is refunded, and retrying charges only for the scenes left to render.

Note that the Create screen defaults to the Best writer, the most coherent and the priciest per script. Switch to Standard if you want scripts to be free.

Keeping a season affordable

  • Prove the story in Storyboard or Motion before moving to video.
  • Use fewer, purposeful scenes; cost tracks scenes as well as seconds.
  • Use Draft video to see an episode play before rendering it in Cinema or Cinema Pro.
  • Read the script before you confirm and rewrite anything you would not pay to see.

Questions

Is there a subscription?

No. AISP sells credits as one-time packs. Prices are shown in the app at checkout.

Do I get credits back if a scene fails?

Yes. Failed scenes are refunded, and you can retry just those scenes.
